Whilst visiting the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, I had the exciting opportunity of meeting and shaking hands with Charlie Duke, one of only 12 people that have walked on the moon! What are your priorities to help support BRC Members in the next 6 months? I’m excited to bring my expertise in retail benchmarking to the BRC in the form of a Digital Monitor, which I’m aiming to launch later this year. The Monitor will include a range of digital KPIs, across multiple catego ries, including website performance, payments, customer engagement, fulfilment and marketing ROI metrics, allowing participating retailers to benchmark their online performance by device. What should members look out for from your community next year? Our members are highly engaged in the Insight Community and we want to ensure we continue to provide relevant and insightful content for all BRC members. Look out for more virtual and in-person events, streamlined content and reports on the Insight Community Hub on our website. We have also recently launched a new BI dashboard which allows Retail Sales Monitor participants to compare their performance with the market across multiple categories. Is there anything else you are working on that you would like to shout about? I’m working closely with our fantastic Events Team on a number of exciting events over the coming months. Look out for invites to join our webinars and in-person events covering a range of topics such as consumer behavioural trends, retail market insights, data and automa tion, customer loyalty and some future gazing around retail technology trends over the next 5 years.
Tina Spooner Strategic Insight Manager British Retail Consortium
Tina tell us a bit about your role at BRC I work in the Insights Team at the BRC as a Strategic Insight Manager. MY role involves supporting our retail members with insights through data analysis and market intelligence to enable them to create actionable insights that drive business results. I produce market analysis for the Retail Sales Monitors, host insight webinars and events, and engage regularlywith our retail members to ensure they are deriving maximum benefit from their BRC membership. Whatwasyourbackgroundbefore joining? My background is in online retail – I’ve been a researcher in ecommerce and digital trends for over two decades. It’s been fascinating to witness the remarkable changes and astonishing technical and commercial developments that have transformed the retailing industry over the past 20 years. In the early days of ecommerce, I worked closelywith retailers to help them understand and benchmark their market performance in the emerging ecommerce industry. Over recent years, I was an Advisor with Forrester Research in their Digital Business Council, working with clients across multiple industries, including healthcare, financial services, B2B, manufacturing and retail. w e caught up with Tina spooner BRC’s strategic insigts manager to find out more about her role at the BRC
